Canadian Fashion Featuring: Hilary MacMillan

Written by: Samayra Bahl

Every designer has a different story of starting something they wanted to do for a long time. Hilary MacMillan was raised in Toronto. She went to Vancouver to pursue a degree in Economics and Political Science at the University of British Columbia.

However, soon she decided that it was fashion that she wanted to pursue as her career. In 2013, the self-titled brand was founded where Hilary MacMillan offers various contemporary staple pieces at various price points.

Soon in 2016, Hilary decided to make the brand cruelty-free, which no longer used fur, feather, leather or any type of exotic skin.

The designer is highly known for using bold prints and fabrics which only makes her pieces more jaw-dropping!

Hillary MacMillan has dressed many celebrities and famous people like Cheryl Hickey, Elisha Cuthbert, Fefe Dobson, Natasha Negovanlis, Chloe Wilde, Kim Cattrall, Liz Trinear and most notably Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

She believes in expressing herself by creating fun fashion pieces and to date, she presents her styles at the Toronto Fashion Week.

As of now, Hillary’s focus on fashion is all about size, inclusivity and creating things cruelty-free.
