As we are about to approach the new season – Spring 2022, fashion is going to have a major shift from the cozy, warm sweaters to light, breezy and breathable spring fashion. Apparently there’s no sign of loungewear on the spring/summer 2022 runway but it’s all about body-empowering pieces like micro-mini skirts, bralette tops, all whites, those fluffy cottage core sleeves and many more.

So let’s see what our spring 2022 forecast tells us about the upcoming fashion looks.

Micro mini’s first got popular in the late 60s and 70s and back then it was a big question under societal norms. But nevertheless, be prepared to see many more micro minis in spring 2022. At the NYFW, not one couture skipped these. It was spotted in all different kinds of fabrics and prints. Designers like Christian Cowan, Kim Shui, LaQuan Smith to name a few had all different kinds of Micro minis in their runway shows.
So ladies, be prepared for the micro mini trend this summer because with everything opening up, you’ll want to update your wardrobe and get ready for the spring.

Another popular theme seen at the NYFW for this spring is all white outfits. This monochromatic look is perfect to add freshness to the wardrobe after cold, gloomy winter days. If you think all white is too much for you, try adding some denim or cardigans of other colors to the look.

Though gingham has been in trend for many years, this year you’ll get to see it even more. This fresh, appealing fabric is perfect for summer dresses. All those cottage core fans should really look forward to having gingham in their summer dresses collection this year.

A new trend that we’ll see this season is tailored skirts. The skirt will most probably get paired with a tailored blazer but some might fear that this look can not suit them; don’t worry ladies, you can always add some modern accessories to not make it look dated. Or you can pair it with a plain tee and add a twist of your own.

It is presumed that pleated skirts will be in trend now more than ever. These skirts are predicted to dominate this spring because they are very feminine and classic. At NYFW, many designers like Sandy Liang, Rejina Pyo added pleated skirts to their shows.
