Cargo pants, denim, and wearable silhouettes are this year’s trend favourites, which are being supported on spring 2023 runways. Not that the first half of the year will be monotonous in terms of style. The aesthetic images still include dramatic hem lengths and shiny silvers. Stylish hot pink may eventually make way for new, intriguing hues in 2023 in terms of colour, but don’t anticipate it to be all about Pantone’s colour of the year viva Magenta.
CARGO PANTS
The popularity of female R&B and pop groups in the 1990s and 2000s may have contributed to the attractiveness of cargo pants during that time. In 2023, we see the comeback of the cargo pant. These, however, are not the formless, low-rise pants of the year 2000 era. This style is reflected in fitted silhouettes, unique pocket placements, upscale materials like silk and organza, and hues other than khaki and olive for the spring. The typically undressed-down cargoes received a chic update for Resort 2023.
SHEER DRESSES
Since the lockdown ended, the central goal has been “Bare it all.” Naked dressing transitions from the red carpet, where stars like Cher and Rihanna have been spotted wearing it for years, to street style in 2023. Sheer clothing has an advantage in embracing a hotter appearance while maintaining a delicate feminine touch with layering potential, giving dressing depth. SHINY AND GLITTERY
The runways in 2023 have so much shine that it looks like the Roaring ’20s are returning. The short glitter dress offers a bold and very sexy look that can be worn in songs and night outings. Maxi skirts are here to take over the year in response to the incredibly impractical micro skirts of 2022. Expect a lot of low-rise, pocket-adorned designs, floor-grazing jean skirts, styles in different prints, and unusual materials like velvet in keeping with the cargo and denim trends. Recent seasons have been a tale of two extremes in terms of hemlines. Wide-spread runways have included thigh-skimming skirt lengths, designed for wearers who enjoy showing legs, as well as all-encompassing maxis. The latter has been especially well-liked, and the abundance of floor-dusting hems in the autumn/winter 2023 menswear designs suggests that maxi skirts will remain fashionable this year.
