The Hottest Makeup Looks of The Night at the 95th Oscars

Starring in the new Oscar-nominated film Tár, Cate Blanchett was seen rocking the perfect natural glam look on the red carpet. Her natural makeup was perfectly suitable as it complemented her loud and vibrant color-blocking gown. This look made one thing clear, natural glam is back and here to stay. Her perfectly executed natural makeup look was a smart decision in drawing the viewers’ attention to her captivating structured draped dress. Her dewy and fresh look proved that a full glam face is not always necessary to look glamorous at the Oscars!

From every fashion lover’s favorite film, The House of Gucci, Lady Gaga was seen sporting a dress three days after it debuted in Versace’s fall/winter 2023 show. Her gorgeous gown was accompanied by a bold red lip, an intensely dark smokey eye, and rosy blush. This charming look goes on to show that a red lip can truly never go out of style, and what better occasion for a red lip than the Oscars. Lady Gaga’s smoky eye look brought out her features and complimented her black bustier style dress impeccably.

Angela Bassett turned all heads on the red carpet with her purple chiffon Moschino look complemented by chunky Bulgari jewelry. Her look was extremely eye-catching, with that being said her makeup artist did not show up to play. Her makeup look consisted of harmonious shades of purple that were still light enough to draw attention to her stunning gown. Last year as well as at the beginning of 2023, an emerging fashion trend has been monotone makeup looks that use the same hue of color throughout each part of the makeup look. In this case, her look involved a lilac eyeshadow, purple blush, as well as a soft muted purple lip. Her whole look of the night evoked a sense of power and strong femininity which similarly compares to her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The 90s have been trending for the past couple of years, and viewers at home were reminded of that from Ashely Graham’s makeup look on the red carpet. She stunned with a simple yet classic look consisting of a dark grey and black smokey eye applied with precision and perfection, a brown-toned nude lip, and a sculpting contour. Additionally, she wore a black rhinestone Alberta Ferretti dress which made her 90’s makeup look stand out even more.
