This week has three days and here’s what happened on day one at the Tome show.
It’s 6:20 p.m. on a warm, breezy Tuesday in the city. I come out of Bay station and as I make my way towards Yorkville Avenue and Bellaire Street, I pass by countless men and women dressed to the nines. I stop at the intersection and there it is – the fashion house (what used to be an old Anthropologie store). A flood of people stand in front of the doors from volunteers to influencers, photographers, and industry professionals all dressed up ready to take on the rest of Toronto Fashion Week.
Waiting in line to enter the venue, my colleague and I get a cleaning treatment for our sunglasses from the booth outside of Sunglasshut. With our shades clean, we get our digital tickets ready to be scanned so we can enter the venue.
It’s 7:00 p.m. and the show is about to start. The entrance doors are closed, the lights are dimmed, and the photographers have their cameras ready… it’s show time!
One model after another, each dressed in absolutely beautiful one-of-a-kind haute couture outfits strut down the runway. The light bouncing off the intricate designs of each gown, accessories, and jewelry making each outfit sparkle. Before we know it, the models walk down the runway one last time and the show comes to an end.
As I leave the building, I see reporters and photographers trying to get last minute photos and interviews before everyone is made to leave the building.
A huge thank you to Tome and Toronto Fashion Week for allowing us at Infuse Magazine to attend the show. It was breathtaking and absolutely wonderful!
