The biggest color patterns of 2021 are taking the lead from the last turbulent year and offering people a sense of hope, happiness and refreshment that many are waiting for.

The Pantone Color Institute and Shutterstock have published their 2021 color pattern projections over the last two months, selecting vivid and calming colors that are influenced by natural elements. Pantone announced in December that Illuminating—a bright yellow hue—and Ultimate Gray are the 2021 Colors of the Year, each synchronously reflecting peace, stability and optimism.

Other colors which include Fire Whirl, Fuchsia Fedora, a pale rosette and Mykonos Blue, a bright blue color inspired by the Aegean Sea, Root Beer, Leprechaun.

Mykonos Blue

A brisk blue evocative of the Aegean Sea

Fuchsia Fedora

Vivid Fuchsia Fedora is a flirtatious, bold pink with allure.

Spring lake

A quiet and restful midtone blue.
