Once again, it’s that time of the week it’s Fashion Friday! In this segment I’ll be giving tips and tricks about thrifting and sustainable shopping, specifically how to recreate the looks featured in our Fashion Friday segment on Instagram with sustainable options.
This week we’re featuring Fashion Arts and Business student Tyanna. In her own words her outfit is classy with a modern twist. Tyanna also enjoys following whatever’s a current fashion trend of the time. The outfit photographed for this Fashion Friday consists of a black long puff sleeved wrap blouse from Fashion Nova, a pair of high waisted slightly flared blue jeans from Marshall’s, a small black handbag from Aldo, and a pair of black suede high heeled boots. Tyanna’s elevated classic look is just casual enough she could pull off wearing it to class but is simultaneously dressed up to a degree that would be appropriate for dinner out or an event.
As for my recommendations, let’s start from the top! For a beautiful wrap top, I knew the perfect place to look one of my favourite ethical and sustainable brands Everlane. There are two possible options from Everlane, first is The Washable Silk Wrap Top for our purposes its absolutely perfect with a puffed sleeve and a bow in the front just like Tyanna’s shirt. For those who may want to recreate this look when winter fully kicks in there is also a cashmere wrap sweater that would have a similar effect just with the added benefit of extra warmth.
Next are the bottoms, I found a pair of jeans from ethical and sustainable UK brand Boden. The Flare Jeans Mid Vintage from Boden will give the perfect subtle flare look just like Tyanna. For the shoes I found a great option also from Boden, a beautiful pair of black suede boots. And lastly for the handbag I chose this gorgeous option from ethical vegan brand Angela Roi, the bag is called the Barton Mini in black. The bag is the perfect final touch to this look as it has a top handle and a cross body option.
As always if your looking for a cheaper option there’s always thrifting, now when it comes to very specific items you may be looking for instead of just looking at your local thrift store (although you can do that too!) try searching on Etsy, Ebay, or Depop for whatever particular item your looking for! That’s all for now folks tune in next week for yet another edition of Fashion Friday!
