What skin tone are you?

In order to figure what colours best suit you, you need to figure out what skin tone you are!

The best way to do this is by looking at the veins on the underside of your arm and distinguishing what colour they are. It’s best to do this in natural daylight.

If your veins appear blue/purple – you have a cool skin tone

If your veins appear green – you have a warm skin tone

If your veins are both blue and green or you can’t tell  – you most likely have a neutral skin tone.

You can also base your decision on if you tan or burn. If your skin burns it means you have cool toned skin and if it tans, you have warm toned skin.

What colours suit your skin tone?

Cool Skin: colours such as frosty purples, greens, sky blues, light grassy tones, jeweled tones and anything pastel are your best options! If you want to wear some warmer colours try lipstick reds, pale yellows and hot pinks. It’s best to avoid orange or bright yellows.

Ultimately colours with cool undertones will suit you best!

Neutral Skin: lucky you, you are capable of pulling off the entire colour spectrum! With a neutral complexion you can really explore different colours without having to worry about being overpowered or washed out. If you are looking for some suggestions, we definitely recommend wearing cameo and jade greens, dusty pinks and off-whites! Just be careful to avoid neons!

Warm Skin: colours such as creams, rusty tones, reds, amber, gold, oranges and earthy tones are your best bet! If you want to try something a little cooler, go for olives, violets, orchids, and fuschia. Your best friends are colours with a yellow hue and it’s best to avoid icy shades or jeweled tones!

At the end of the day, we at Infuse believe you can wear whatever you feel most confident in even if it doesn’t necessarily follow these guidelines… You gotta know the rules to break the rules, right?
